About
MILLER FACTORY

Miller Factory is a non-profit 501c3 organization functioning primarily in the Central Ohio area. Our mission is to develop & support programs with an emphasis on education, restoring pride & inspiring the youth through sports. Our goal is to expose our youth to unique programs & events that will challenge them to be positive community leaders on and off the court.

Established in 2005, Miller Factory began as an adult outdoor summer basketball league titled “The Miller Factory Classic.” The event helped bring a conflicted community together providing athletes and spectators a fun, safe and family-oriented environment. After four great summers at the height of our success we were forced to suspend the Classic indefinitely to find a new location to host our event. In 2016 we decided to redirect our focus on revitalizing youth basketball creating multiple new programs.

Collaborating with the YMCA of Central Ohio – Downtown Branch we initiated an after-school program called Make The Right Choice where we train, feed and mentor boys age 10-14. Participants were required to attend our weekly seminars where we cover topics such as personal credit & finance, internet safety, college prep ACT/SAT and health & nutrition just to name a few.

In addition to MTRC we assembled one 8th grade boys’ team to participate in Travel Teams. We played in multiple tournaments traveling to various cities including Cincinnati, OH, Ft. Wayne, IN & Louisville, KY. In just one year our Travel Teams program grew from one to ten teams ranging from 2nd to 11th grades. Traveling twice as much as the previous year playing in cities such as Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA & Orlando, FL. In our Travel Teams programs short existence, multiple kids have received full scholarship offers and interest from Major D1 & D2 schools. Our goal is to help every kid in our program obtain free college tuition through athletic and academic excellence.

Unfortunately, due to covid we were forced to suspend our basketball programs and community outreach for almost 2 years. We are excited to resume operating at full capacity in 2023 including adding new collaborative programming, skills training and camps.
